Basic Hiring Process For HRs

Hiring is basically a process of action whereby someone new is brought into the organisation. . It is an important step in the full employee lifecycle and it is the end of a successful recruiting process.

No matter who you are bringing on, the basic hiring process must be followed. This would be ensure the right candidate is not only employed, this also ensures candidate with the right mindset is brought on to do the job!

I always laugh when, when sentiment is thrown into the hiring process thinking one is smart whereas, the cost implication of hiring the wrong candidate cannot be quantified and in fact, one wrong hire can mess up your expectations as well as your bottom line at the end of the day.

Simply put, in the hiring process, 6 key hints must be greatly considered; in the least, the right thing must be seen to have been done. Doing the right thing in the hiring process would give a feel of willingness to take care of your organization performance right from the hiring point!!

1-What is the job definition? This would assist in determining the right compensation to be paid. Forget rhetoric, right pay for a job done is a motivational tool!!

2- What type of recruitment process do you have in place? Would your recruitment process eliminate the right candidates and throw on your laps dead-ducks?

3- How professional is your interview processes? Would it assist you to ask right questions? Would it enable the candidate to provide you the right responses?

4- What are the offers? How competitive? How sustainable? Would it assist you to get the required result from the candidates?

5- Onboarding and Orientation? Never play with this!!! This is the point you need to sell your organization culture to your hire. Your hire must know what you stand for? Your vision? Etcetera

6- Whether Employment is permanent or temporary, you must not toy with training! Training and more training!!!

When you discard some basic codes and do a wrong hire, ma fren, you are on a long thing. No juju would save you when you run into soiled waters!
