'Our beautiful little girl': Heartbroken family mourns schoolgirl, 11, who died when she fel

Evha Jannath (main picture), who turned 11 last Friday, is believed to have been standing up to change seats with a classmate when she was bumped over the side of the Splash Canyon ride (right) and was 'dragged under the water by the current'. One parent of a child on the ride with Miss Jannath, who attended a private Muslim girls' school in Leicester, said the boat with no teacher on board 'hit a rock' and she was sucked into the rapids. She had been on a school trip to the Staffordshire attraction from Islamic day school Jameah Girls Academy and was on a raft with four friends, who have been left devastated. One mother told MailOnline: 'The girl got up to change seats just then it hit a rock and she got knocked out of the boat and the water currents dragged her in. They couldn't see her after she fell in'. Police confirmed that Evha suffered life-threatening injuries after plunging into the 5ft deep water and died shortly after being airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital. Today the girl's family are being offered support by specialist police officers and Drayton Manor (left today) and the school (inset) have been closed out of respect.
