At least five people are reportedly dead after a shooting in a Mexican nightclub on the final night of the BPM music festival.
A gunman fired shots through an open window at the Blue Parrot club in Playa Del Carmen - about 40 miles from Cancun - early Monday morning.
The club was one of several venues hosting events as part of the BPM festival, which brings together more than 150 of the world's top DJs and musical acts. Elrow was hosting a closing party at the Blue Parrot when the shooting occurred.
Local news reports suggest that the incident is connected to ongoing drug cartel wars in the area. Police have not confirmed the death toll.

'Someone has come into the club in Playa Del Carmen and opened fire. 4-5 dead and many wounded. Stay in ur f**kin hotel if you're here at BPM,' he wrote. 'Apparently now more shots fired at another club in the area.'
It is believed that a security guard was one of those who were shot and killed, International Business Times, reported.
A second shooting was reported at the club The Jungle, where another BPM closing party featuring John Acquaviva, Stacey Pullen and David Berrie was taking place, Mix Mag reported.
It is unknown how many people are injured.
Videos on Instagram show people running through the streets of Playa Del Carmen following the shooting.
Mexican police have confirmed the mass shooting but have not given motive for the gunfire. They have not reported any arrests.
BPM Festival has said that all closing parties have been shut down as police start their investigation into the shootings.
Festival officials encouraged people to stay inside. The BPM Festival, which ran between January 6 and 15, was celebrating its ten-year anniversary this year.
Festival-goer Steven Rosado, a 26-year-old from White Plains, New York, was across the street at Tribeca Club when he saw people fleeing for safety.
'I heard at least five to six gunshots,' he told the New York Daily News. 'I saw everyone that was in line to go into the Blue Parrot running away.'
MixMag reporter Valerie Lee told Sky News that she heard 'four or five shots' at the club.
'People started running because there's an exit in the back. We stopped and hid behind a cement wall, then crawled under a metal table,' she said.
'Security guards at first didn't think it was shots and kept claiming it was fireworks, saying everything was OK. Then people kept running and said they saw a gun. We kept hiding until they opened the back gate and we ran outside.'
A witness identified only as Angel told Dazed that she was at the Blue Parrot for London promoter Elrow. She said she was at the back of the club when the shooting occurred.
She told Dazed: 'We heard what appeared to be gunshots but a worker told us to calm down, it was just fireworks. People (sic) started getting up and again the shots started.

'My friends saw the shooter running across the back of the club shooting into it through a metal rail. One of my friends saw a person shot and bleeding.'
'Once the shooting stopped we jumped over that same fence and ran on the beach about 10 blocks. We were helped by some other party goers by letting us hang out in their hotel for a few minutes. They saw a guy shot in the head,' Angel added.
Angel, who safely returned to an Air BnB with friends, said the shooting was 'extremely disturbing and sad'.
Los Angeles resident Jake Lubelski wrote on Facebook that he was 20 feet away from the gunman when the shooting took place.
'I was standing outside of a club on an insanely crowded street when it happened; I was maybe 20 feet away from the shooter,' he wrote. 'As soon as I heard gun shots, everyone started bolting and we nearly got trampled by the frantic herds of people.
'As soon as I turned around the corner and got a look at the scene, I saw a man lying on the floor in his own blood. it could have been me.'
